Update 1.2.1 - Standalone version

This update was actually meant to be released about a week ago, but due to some technical issues irl it is being released now.

The most important change in this update, is the new, standalone, downloadable desktop version! Now upon entering the game's page, you'll still be able to play it in browser, but you'll also have the ability to download it on a computer. Both WebGL and desktop versions have practically the same content, but the latter has some key advantages over the other. These advantages being:

  • Optimization being much, MUCH better
  • Ability to keep save files and other data, without worrying that it'll be wiped with the next update
  • Ability to keep the older versions when the new ones come out
  • An option to change key bindings, window resolution, and graphical settings before playing

It is recommended to use the desktop version instead of WebGL if you want the best experience, or if you're planning to play a bit more instead of just checking it out. WebGL version on the other hand, comes useful when you are just checking the game out, when you're away from your computer, or when just simply you can't or don't want to download the game.

But besides the new downloadable version, I did do some minor changes and additions to the game. These changes are:

  • Horde's waves, are now mentioned as waves in menus, and not as rounds
  • Added horde game mode tutorial to the How to play menu
  • Increased taser's gun spread, and added a small flashing effect when firing it
  • Magazines and all the other items used in reloading guns, now contain ammo. When reloading, instead of completely removing the magazine from the inventory, a specific amount of it's ammo will be consumed to reload your gun
  • Reworked NPC gun's recoil mechanic. Now, their gun spread and recoil will start high, and will decrease with each shot taken. Basically the opposite of the previous mechanic, it makes gun fights against NPCs a bit easier, tho still you should be careful when fighting them
  • Fixed few minor bugs

Well that's it for this update. It wasn't anything big regarding the game itself, but it was needed nonetheless. Thank you for reading this post, and/or for playing the game!
